So, can I make a small confession? Thanks.

I HAVE SOME VERY EXTREME VIEWS ON A LOT OF THINGS.

Phew. There, I said it. I know, you’re shocked by this. Yeah, ok, fine. You’re not. But here’s the thing – my MOST extreme viewpoint? Tolerance of others and their child-related choices. I’m totally anti-mommy wars. Totally anti-judging this or that parenting style. Or childbirth method. Or feeding situation. Or vaccinating preference.

And I am totally sick and tired of being slotted into a certain stereotype because of who I am and what I do. Yes, I am a chiropractor. Yes, I am a fairly crunchy individual. Yes, I am a woman who is passionate about all things BIRTHFIT. Yes, I am still breastfeeding my daughter at 2+ years of age. Big deal. It works for us. No, at this point, we have chosen not to vaccinate our daughter. Also? That 2-year-old? She was a c-section baby a little over two years ago. And, you know what? It’s ok. While not my first choice of birthing method (or my 10th for that matter!), it was what needed to happen to keep both of us safe. I feel like that was part of God’s plan – and probably made me even more tolerant of the choices and decisions we all make as parents every day.

I adore YOU making choices that are based on research and what’s right for your family. I want you to feel empowered to make the right choices for your family. What are the right choices? I can’t tell you that. I can give you information and maybe some directions to some research, but me? I’m basically Switzerland when it comes to the rest of it. When you come into my office, my extreme views are not out there on display – it’s not my place. I’m here to help YOU DO YOU.

Be well!

Love,

Dr. Jamie
